Day 1

Johannesburg - Balule Game reserve

Guests are collected from OR Tambo International Airport or a pre-arranged hotel/guest lodge within the city precinct of Johannesburg or Pretoria. The route to the Kruger National Park in the Mpumalanga Province takes you from the wide-open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld region. Stopover for lunch along the way (own expense). Arrive at the Tremisana Lodge mid-day; book into your accommodation, freshen up and rest. Transfer to an open Landcruiser for an exciting game drive. As darkness falls, we stop at the famous Marula Boma for a memorable Bush BBQ. Overnight in the air-conditioned ensuite chalet.

Day 2

Moring Bush walk and Afternoon Safari Drive

Early morning wake-up for hot beverages and rusks before setting off to a remote corner of Balule Game Reserve for a 4-hour guided bush walk along the Olifants River with an armed safari guide. Enjoy the sights and sounds of a real bushveld experience while keeping a keen eye on the thick bush for the Big Five and an abundance of antelope, predators and indigenous birds. Return to Tremisana Game Lodge for a late breakfast and refreshments; relax and freshen up before it’s time for mid-afternoon tea and the afternoon game drive which takes your from Balule to your accommodation in Motlala Game Reserve. Overnight in tented accommodation at Marc’s Tented Lodge.

Day 3

Full Day Safari Drive in the Kruger National Park

Wake up early for hot beverages and rusks and then it’s time to depart for a full day safari tour in the Kruger National Park. We enter via Orpen Gate and spend the day exploring the upper-south and central region. Lunch break at a popular Kruger Park rest camp (your own cost). Return to your lodge as the sun sets; freshen up and join your guide for a starlit dinner at the lodge lapa. Overnight in tented accommodation at Marc’s Treehouse Lodge.

Day 4

Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and Safari Drive

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Hoedspruit where we’ll spend the morning meeting the wild ambassadors of Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. You’ll get up close to lions, leopards, cheetah and hyena and meet an incredible array of birds of prey that have been rescued and treated by the wonderful team at Moholoholo. Return to Motlala Game Reserve mid-day; relax around the camp until it’s time to depart for a late-afternoon game drive.

Full Day Safari Drive in the Kruger National Park

Day 6

Morning Walk - Return to Johannesburg via the Blyde River Canyon View Point

The final day of your safari begins with an early morning bushwalk in the company of an armed ranger. After the walk, we travel to the Blyde River Canyon View point where we spend time taking in the breath-taking sight. The tour ends with us returning you to your Johannesburg accommodation or to the OR Tambo airport in the late afternoon. We can also transfer you to other Johannesburg destinations on arrangement.
